Cyber attacks increasingly target people as much as technology, and Dorset is no exception. From phishing emails to ransomware, local organisations of every size are facing new pressures that can impact both business operations and staff wellbeing.
That’s why we are launching Cyber First Aid – Dorset, a project led by Bournemouth University with its spin-out company Cyber Innovations Ltd., supported by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) and Innovate UK.
At the heart of the project is a national questionnaire, designed to capture how people and organisations are experiencing and responding to cyber threats right now. This is the first dataset of its kind in the UK, and Dorset has the chance to lead the way in showing how local businesses and communities are building resilience.
We are proud to be working in partnership with Dorset Chamber, Dorset Mind, and Cybexer to ensure the voices of local employers, staff, and volunteers are represented.
For Dorset, taking part means more than just filling in a survey:
- It ensures that local needs are heard in a government-backed national study.
- It helps build evidence that can shape future support, training, and resources for our businesses and communities.
- It shows how Dorset is becoming a leader in people-centred cyber resilience.
